Specifications

UBE2G2 is the human homolog of yeast Ubc7, and has been demonstrated to be involved in endoplasmic reticulum associated degradation (ERAD). Structural studies indicate that this single domain protein possesses a loop region, likely involved in interactions with the RING domain that impart binding specificity and/or stability. This 165 amino acid protein is ubiquitously expressed, highly in muscle tissues.
