Sr. Scientist - Cellular & Molecular Biology

USA, Pennsylvania, Malvern

Explore the frontiers of biology to make breakthrough discoveries with applications in drug discovery and diagnostics? Ubiquitin Proteasome System (UPS) provides a challenge as a new wave of drugs are emerging, such as PROtein TArgeting Chimeras (PROTACs) and Molecular Glues that target undruggable space. Senior Scientists are expected to develop innovative technologies to understand the role of ubiquitin in cell physiology. Our technologies are used worldwide by academic, pharma and biotech companies. The Senior Scientist will lead research programs to develop innovative technologies, execute drug discovery projects for our clients, as well as drive the development of new products and product applications. They will write scientific articles, patents, and present data at national and international meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Competency in multiple aspects of drug discovery with focus on designing and executing a variety of cell based and biochemical assays.

  • Proven track record in cloning, cell culture, protein expression, purification, and characterization.

  • Proficient in biochemical and immunological assays (ELISA, SPR, WB, FACS, etc.)

  • Independent experimental design and execution, analytical problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to stay on top of the latest scientific research related targeted protein degradation (TPD) field, with commitment to deep knowledge in project specific biology.

  • Prior experience with PROTACs and molecular glues for protein degradation is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in biological sciences

  • 3-10+ years of laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting

  • Experience in molecular cloning and designing expression vectors

  • Experience in protein expression, purification, and protein engineering
