Ubiquitin is a small polypeptide that attaches via its C-terminus to lysine residues on target proteins. WT-Ubiquitin (wild-type) is the native, unmodified form and an essential tool for studying the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS), which controls protein degradation and turnover. It acts as the foundation for ubiquitin chains that signal for degradation or other cellular processes.
