USP4 (UNP) has been shown to cleave the ubiquitin precursor UBICEP52 and the isopeptide (ε-peptide linked) ubiquitin conjugate ubiquitin-(εN)-lysine in vitro. USP4 interacts with the tumor suppressors Retinoblastoma protein (Rb), p107 and p130 in vitro and in cells and ectopic expression of USP4 is oncogenic.
